Data Formats Supported by E-IG
Data Formats Supported by E-IG
Native open source format
The native open source format is internally used by the image generator to load the optimized runtime database. There are two physical representation of the format; the binary and the text format. The binary version is deployed for runtime, the text format is mainly used for debugging.
Supported:
- OpenSceneGraph .IVE binary optimized format
- OpenSceneGraph .OSG text format
Many other database and texture formats
The underlying OpenSceneGraph graphics library supports, by its architecture of plug-able importers and exporters, many texture and database formats.
Supported:
- COLLADA, LightWave (.lwo), Alias Wavefront (.obj), OpenFlight (.flt), TerraPage (.txp), Carbon Graphics GEO (.geo), 3D Studio MAX (.3ds), Peformer (.pfb), AutoCAd? (.dxf), Quake Character Models (.md2). Direct X (.x), and Inventor Ascii 2.0 (.iv)/ VRML 1.0 (.wrl), Designer Workshop (.dw) and AC3D (.ac) and the native .osg ASCII format.
OpenFlight world simulation standard format
Support for direct and indirect use of OpenFlight model and terrain database format.
Supported:
- All OpenFlight versions from 15.6 to 16.2
- Direct reading and use of OpenFlight data into the image generator. The speed and quality can be affected. The preprocessing of the OpenFlight databases is recommended.
